Face oils with highly effective ingredients are getting more and more attention and are now a must-have for many in their skincare routine. Our Balance Face Oil is also enjoying growing popularity. In the formulation we combine highly effective natural plant oils and extracts with the aim of meeting the needs of a wide range of skin types. With increasing popularity, we also receive many questions about the correct application, in which order the facial oil should be applied and for which skin types facial oils are generally suitable. Many women and men still shy away from integrating a facial oil into their care routine because they fear it will cause oily skin or blemishes. Therefore, we want to take up all the important face oil facts and give you step by step instructions on how to use facial oils.

FACE OIL BENEFITS

Face oils contain nourishing and soothing ingredients and highly effective ingredients from e.g. Rose hips, olives, or almonds. It is best to choose a face oil made from cold-pressed and natural vegetable oils and extracts. We only use 100% natural vegetable oils in our Balance Face Oil and no mineral oils. Mineral oil, mineral oil derivatives and silicones are used in many conventional face oils because the ingredients are much cheaper than herbal ingredients. However, their extraction harms the environment and the effects on humans have not been comprehensively researched.

STRENGTHENING THE NATURAL SKIN BARRIER

Face oils are used to strengthen and rebuild the natural protective skin barrier. The outermost layer of our skin (epidermis) can be stressed and damaged by incorrect cleaning, too aggressive cosmetic products, and environmental influences. The skin protection barrier, however, has an important protective function against the penetration of bacteria, against UV radiation and regulates the loss of moisture. If the skin's protective barrier is disturbed, the skin loses its natural balance and reacts very sensitively. The skin can become increasingly dry, and redness, inflammation, flaking and itching can occur. A natural facial oil made from vegetable oils and extracts provides the skin with plenty of moisture, antioxidants, and vitamins to support the regeneration of the skin. Vegetable oils contain certain fatty acids that can be built into the skin barrier as building blocks and thus maintain the skin's protective barrier. Those vegetable oils that have a high proportion of linoleic acid are particularly suitable, e.g. Almond oil, jojoba oil, or squalane. Regular use of natural facial oils gives your skin the best possible chance to shine healthily, to be less sensitive and to regain suppleness and elasticity. Facial oils that are rich in antioxidants (e.g. vitamin E) have a particularly intense effect to fight free radicals and thus prevent premature skin aging, wrinkles and fine lines. Remember, a healthy skin barrier is a requirement for glowing skin.

REGULATION OF NATURAL OIL PRODUCTION OF THE SKIN

In fact, facial oils can even help the skin to be less greasy and thus prevent blemishes. By using a facial oil regularly, you are giving your skin a signal that it needs to produce less oil itself. Because if you supply the skin with sufficient oil from the outside, it stops producing excess sebum itself. Here, too, it is important - the right oil is what counts! Jojoba oil and squalane are very similar to the body's own sebum and therefore regulate the skin's own sebum production very well. The effect: the complexion is less shiny and pimples and impurities are reduced. Therefore, women and men with shiny, oily or blemished skin should not shy away from facial oils. And the right facial oil can also work wonders for acne! Our Balance Face Oil is formulated with antibacterial rosehip seed oil and magnolia bark extract to soothe the skin and reduce inflammation. It is important that the face oil is not comedogenic. The term comedogenic means whether an oil clogs the pores and promotes pimples or blackheads. The right facial oil can regulate your skin's natural oil production. Not all face oils have the same properties. Choosing the right facial oil is important to achieve the results you want.

HOW TO USE - THE RIGHT STEPS

Step 1 – CLEANSER: Thoroughly cleanse your face with a gentle cleanser and free it from dirt, make-up and sun protection. With your facial cleanser, make sure that it cleanses the skin thoroughly, but does not irritate or dry it out. Often the surfactants used are sulfates such as Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES) or Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS), which you should avoid. Rather choose a cleaner with mild plant-based surfactants, such as the sugar surfactants Coco Glucoside or Capryl Glucoside Step 2- FACE MASK: Apply one of our face masks to deeply cleanse your skin and supply it with important minerals. The Koko & Clay face masks are gentle enough to be used 2-3 times a week. You can skip this step on the days when you are not using them. Step 3 – TONER: If you're using a moisturizing toner, you should apply it after cleansing and masking your face.

Step 4 - SERUM: If you are using serums such as vitamin C or niacinamide, apply them before your face oil.

Step 5 – FACE OIL: Now you can apply the facial oil to the slightly damp skin. The oil forms an emulsion with the water on your skin and can be more easily absorbed and absorbed by the skin. Simply spread a few drops of water on your face with your hands. Don't forget your neck and décolleté. Massage the facial oil into your skin. The massage has an additional care and mindfulness effect. The active ingredients are worked into the skin and blood circulation is stimulated. You can use a facial oil daily, morning, and evening.

Step 6 – MOISTURIZER: Then use a day or night cream. We recommend using the facial oil before the moisturizer so that the active ingredients of the oil can penetrate the skin and do their work there. However, if you have particularly dry skin, then it is advisable to use the moisturizer first and then to lock in the moisture in the skin with a facial oil.

Last tip: Mix 1-2 drops of our Balance Face Oil with your foundation or concealer and dab this on your face with a beauty blender to get a radiant and very natural make-up look. We hope that we could convince you of the great benefits of a facial oil.😉 Shop our Balance Face Oil here.
